Description
In this course, which will emphasize Medieval and Early Modern History, students will use their historical investigation skills to examine medieval civilizations across the world. They will learn how social, cultural, and technological developments led to changes in the ways that people lived and interacted with others. Units of study will include Islamic civilizations, Chinese civilizations, sub-Saharan African civilizations, Medieval Japan, Meso-American and Andean civilizations, and Medieval Europe. Students will then focus on the cultural and political changes brought about by the Renaissance and Reformation. Further studies will uncover how the Age of Exploration, the Scientific Revolution, and the Age of Reason and Enlightenment set a course for the modern world.

Changes and Refunds Policy
Parent/Student may cancel any individual Student enrollment in a Course within ten (10) calendar days after the enrollment date in that Course ("Grace Period"). In the event of a timely request for cancellation and approval, HGS will issue a credit to Parent/Student for a future enrollment, but in no event will any refunds be issued. No credit or refund shall be owed to Parent/Student for cancellations or reassignments reported to HGS beyond the Grace Period
